Mary Washington Healthcare Incorporated is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the perioperative team in the operating room. This role involves preparing rooms, maintaining sterile technique, draping patients, and assisting the surgical team during procedures to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

The position requires OR tech training or nursing-related OR experience, and successful completion of certification within six months of hire, with CPR/BLS at hire and Virginia licensure where

Formación

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Graduate of OR Tech program or Surgical Scrub Tech / Surgical Technology with six months experience preferred.
• LPN eligible to practice in Virginia with one year operating room experience.
• Must become Certified Surgical Technologist within 6 months of hire.
• Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine as Surgical Technologist required after hire.

Responsabilidades

• Assist nursing staff by communicating changes in patient status.
• Prepare OR rooms with necessary equipment and sterile supplies.
• Maintain aseptic technique during setup and procedures.
• Drape patients and assist the surgical team during operations.
• Turnover rooms between cases and ensure a safe environment.
• Contribute to physician preference card updates as requested.
• Participate in infection control and quality improvement programs.
• Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork.
