Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking an OR support professional to assist in preparing patients for surgical procedures and to help maintain a clean, safe perioperative environment. You will work closely with nursing staff to obtain needed equipment and ensure operating rooms are ready for cases, while following infection control practices and safety standards.

Desirable prior surgical experience and on-the-job training up to three months may be provided.

Qualifications

• Past surgical experience is desirable but not required.
• On-the-job training for up to three months with progress assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing patients for surgical procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and correct hazards as needed.
• Support perioperative workflow by locating equipment and ensuring readiness of OR rooms.
• Assist anesthesia providers with equipment setup and turnover after cases.
• Monitor for unsafe conditions and participate in infection control and OSHA standards.
• Transport patients and specimens safely within the perioperative area.
