Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support safe and efficient surgical procedures. You will ensure sterile technique, assist with positioning, draping, and instrument handling, and verify implants and supplies under surgeon supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile field, assisting with time-outs, and supporting perioperative processes across procedures in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• 0 to 3 years' experience.
• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• Certification through the NBSTSA (Surgical Technologist).

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision and delegator authority of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures and maximize patient safety.
• Ensure OR rooms, supplies and equipment are available and prepared to support perioperative processes.
• Verify sterilization methods and inspect instrument sets and packaging.
• Maintain sterile instruments, sutures and equipment with working knowledge of each device.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, sterile field setup and time-out verifications.
• Maintain sterile technique, anticipate surgeon needs, and manage medications on the surgical field.
