Job summary

Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center is seeking a OR Scheduling Supervisor to manage elective, urgent, add-on, and emergent surgical cases across multiple specialties, ensuring alignment with surgeon preferences, equipment needs, staffing, and regulatory standards.

The role requires at least one year of supervisory experience, strong reading/writing skills, flexibility with shifts, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Excel proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred; in some departments may be required.
• Ability to read and write and perform duties following oral and written instruction.
• Ability to work various shifts for extended periods as determined by the director.
• Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assists the OR Environment/Holding Area Clinical Manager with planning, organizing, scheduling department workload, and making daily work assignments.
• Assists with managing departmental employees: provides daily feedback, supports performance appraisals, conducts quality inspections, and participates in training.
• Inspects facility condition and takes corrective actions.
• Prepares patient and environment according to age/needs; transports and transfers patients as necessary.
• Collaborates with Holding Area Nurse to provide staffing resources.
• Ensures safe care and adherence to Memorial Hermann policies within budgetary specs.
• Supports professional growth and serves as a preceptor/mentor to staff.
