Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT is seeking a Scheduler B to manage OR scheduling from Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm. This role covers surgical and endoscopic case scheduling, charge capture, and daily coordination within the OR team.

The position requires HS graduation, data entry and MS Word proficiency, with 1 year of experience. Preferred: MS Excel, scheduling systems, and medical terminology knowledge.

Qualifications

• Data entry and MS Word proficiency required.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Preferred: MS Excel, scheduling systems, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgical and endoscopic cases accurately and efficiently.
• Closes out procedures using scheduling software.
• Manages charge capture systems and applications.
• Prepares, prints, and distributes daily OR schedule.
• Assists with room and equipment requirements for procedures.
• Uses office equipment (copiers, printers, computers, faxes).
• Manages requisitions for office supplies and tracks inventory.
• Maintains effective relationships with health care team, patients, and families.
• Keeps a safe, orderly work environment and prioritizes tasks.
• Generates reports for surgical services on scheduling/post-case data.
• Performs secretarial duties for manager as needed.
• Fulfills compliance responsibilities of the role.
