Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Main Operating Room on a full-time days shift. Ideal candidates have scrub and circulator experience, PeriOp 101, and an active RN license with ACLS/PALS within the specified timelines.

This role includes call responsibilities, 7a–3p or 8a–5p schedules, and a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates. The hospital is Magnet-status with a broad OR service mix and strong patient care focus.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing is required.
• RN license is required.
• ACLS within 1 year of hire; PALS within 1 year of hire; BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Scrub and circulator OR experience; PeriOp 101 completion preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced OR and strong patient/provider communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the OR using the nursing process.
• Assist scrub and circulator roles and coordinate with surgeons and staff.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and prioritize patient safety during procedures.
• Educate patients and families as appropriate and document care.
• Support nursing standards and hospital policies in a Magnet-designated facility.
