Job summary

HCA Florida University Hospital in Davie, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the operating room to support surgical teams, patient prep, and perioperative care. The role focuses on safe, patient-centered care and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The position requires ACLS, BLS, and PALS within 30 days of start date, plus an RN license and at least one year of acute care experience; OR RN experience is preferred. On-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required within 30 days of start date.
• RN license required; 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• OR RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding peri-operative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds; verify surgical site.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, technologists and the care team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to ensure safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes during the shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
