Job summary

Medical City Weatherford is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the operating room team. The role focuses on preoperative assessment, patient and family education, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

You will work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team, handle IV therapy and preoperative meds, and uphold universal protocols to improve outcomes in a high-stakes surgical setting.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Associate Degree, RN Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications must be obtained within specified timelines

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while implementing evidence-based practices
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team
• Consistently apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up
