Job summary

Medical City Weatherford is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room to evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively, educate families, and support perioperative workflows. Qualifications

• RN license required and active
• ACLS and BCLS certifications obtained or to be obtained within 30 days of start date
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
• No travel required for this role
• Associate degree in nursing or higher is required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery and coordinate perioperative care
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and perioperative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preop meds, and site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within an interdisciplinary team
• Document patient condition and care provided accurately
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up measures
