Methodist Healthcare System in Texas is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a day shift with on‑call requirements. The role emphasizes pre‑operative evaluation, patient education, and collaboration within a dynamic surgical team.

You will perform pre‑operative preparation, administer IV therapies, verify surgical sites, and participate in briefing and time‑outs per hospital policy. This is a full‑time on-site opportunity with strong teamwork and patient safety focus.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education around the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy, pre-operative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification (briefing, time‑out, debriefing, universal protocols).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care with evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team (providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, etc.).
• Apply the nursing process with critical thinking and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes and care.
• Educate patients and families about the medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
