Job summary

Methodist Hospital Landmark in San Antonio, TX seeks an experienced OR RN with circulating experience and on-call availability. You will evaluate patients pre‑op, educate families, and ensure site verification and safety.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality perioperative care. The role requires an RN license in Texas (or Compact) and at least six months of RN clinical experience, with BLS completion within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate's, or bachelor's RN program.
• Minimum six months of clinical RN experience.
• Current TX RN license or Multi-State Compact; must obtain Texas license within 60 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding procedure and perioperative process.
• Prepare patient including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and surgical staff as part of the team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up.
