Compass Surgical Partners' Horizon Surgery Center Beaches in Jacksonville Beach, FL, is seeking an Operating Room RN to provide direct patient care in the OR, supporting surgeons and anesthesia while prioritizing safety and dignity throughout the perioperative process.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule, no nights or on-call, and a competitive hourly rate with benefits including healthcare, 401(k), and PTO. An active nursing license and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Perioperative nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons and anesthesia staff.
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile operating environment.
• Assess patient needs and involve families in care decisions when appropriate.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate with doctors and staff.
• Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in staff education, orientation, and professional development.
• Organize and manage supplies, equipment, and staff for case management.

Role Summary

The Operating Room RN provides direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate in the operating room. This role supports surgeons and anesthesia providers, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative process.

Hours

• Monday–Friday schedule, full time hours
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or call

What You’ll Do

• Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff during procedures
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment
• Accurately assess patient needs, provide reassurance, and involve families in care decisions when appropriate
• Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues
• Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in staff education, orientation, and professional development
• Organize and manage supplies, equipment, and staff for effective case management

What You’ll Bring

• Active RN license

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing
• Regular interaction with patients of all ages in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs) and meet physical demands of the role
