Job summary

Point Meadows Surgery Center in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our ambulatory surgery team. The role provides direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate in the OR, supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure safety, comfort and dignity throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Associate’s degree or higher in nursing.
• Perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff during procedures.
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment.
• Accurately assess patient needs, provide reassurance, and involve families in care decisions when appropriate.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
• Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in staff education, orientation, and professional development.
• Organize and manage supplies, equipment, and staff for effective case management.

Role Summary:

What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Bring:

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting

• Occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing

• Regular interaction with patients of all ages in a fast-paced surgical environment

• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs) and meet physical demands of the role
