Job summary

Compass Surgical Partners at Horizon Surgery Center in Jacksonville Beach, FL seeks a dedicated OR RN to deliver direct perioperative care in a three-room ambulatory setting. You’ll support surgeons and anesthesia, maintain sterile environment, and advocate for patient safety during procedures.

Monday–Friday, full-time; no nights, weekends, or on-call. Qualifications include active RN license, BLS and ACLS, and an associate degree or higher in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as circulating nurse during procedures.

• Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.

Horizon Surgery Center Beaches, located on the campus of Baptist Medical Center, our physician-led ambulatory surgery center is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered outpatient care. The facility features three active operating rooms specializing in Orthopedic Hand, General Surgery, and Neuro-Spine procedures.

Role Summary:
The Operating Room RN provides direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate in the operating room. This role supports surgeons and anesthesia providers, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative process.

Hours:

• Monday–Friday schedule, full time hours

• No nights, weekends, holidays, or call

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff during procedures

• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment

• Accurately assess patient needs, provide reassurance, and involve families in care decisions when appropriate

• Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues

• Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives

• Participate in staff education, orientation, and professional development

• Organize and manage supplies, equipment, and staff for effective case management

What You’ll Bring:

• Active RN license

• Current BLS and ACLS certification

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting

• Occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing

• Regular interaction with patients of all ages in a fast-paced surgical environment

• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs) and meet physical demands of the role
