Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an experienced Perioperative Services Coordinator to ensure smooth patient care flow through the Operating Room. You will support anesthesia coordinators, charge nurses, surgeons and faculty, triage calls, and help maintain OR schedules using EMR and scheduling software.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree with several years in an ED or hospital office setting, knowledge of medical terminology, and comfort with PICIS and Flowcast.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 3 years of related work experience required.
• Experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred.
• Knowledge of PICIS and Flowcast preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth patient care flow through Perioperative Services and the Operating Room.
• Triages patient calls and coordinates with staff and faculty.
• Maintain OR scheduling and respond to urgent cases and next-day cases.
• Provide training and act as preceptor for department staff on registration, workflow, and customer service.
• Assist with registration, billing corrections, and patient tracking using EMR and scheduling software.
