Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking an RN OR Board Coordinator to optimize daily surgical schedules and patient flow. You will serve as the central hub between surgeons, anesthesia, nursing staff, sterile processing, and ancillary departments to ensure smooth procedural readiness.

In this fast-paced perioperative environment, you will monitor case progression, prioritize urgent cases, and coordinate staffing resources to support throughput, safety, and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Georgia (or compact state) required.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years operating room experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse, coordinator, scheduling, or OR leadership experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of perioperative workflows and scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily operating room schedules and case progression.
• Communicate scheduling updates with surgeons and offices.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing leadership, sterile processing, and support departments.
• Monitor case flow and room utilization throughout the day.
• Prioritize emergent and urgent procedures as needed.
• Coordinate staffing resources based on volume and needs.
• Serve as a resource for scheduling and workflow concerns.
• Address delays and schedule adjustments with clear communication.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives for throughput and patient satisfaction.
• Support safety, regulatory, and operational excellence goals.
