Job summary

BayCare Health System in Bartow, FL is seeking an OR Care Tech to support the operating room and recovery area. You will perform direct and indirect patient care tasks under the supervision of an RN, assist in surgeries, and help prepare patients for procedures.

The role includes handling supplies, instrument sterilization, and maintaining a clean, organized OR environment. A strong preference for BLS certification and a high school diploma, with experience in perioperative care being a plus.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: technical program completion or degree.
• Preferred: 1 year of procedural or perioperative inpatient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the recovery room and provide support duties including cleaning and maintaining supplies, instruments, and sterilizers.

OR Care Tech Responsibilities:

Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of and oversight of an RN. Responsible for supplies / equipment and performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to the preparation of patients for surgery / procedures; assists in the operating room during surgery and in the recovery room; and performs support duties to include the cleaning and maintenance of supplies, instruments and sterilizers.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• Preferred - Technical Program Completion or Degree
• Preferred - 1 year of experience in procedural and/or perioperative in-patient care.
