The Eye Doctors in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Front Office Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a world-class Total Patient Experience. You will handle check-in/out, scheduling, and front desk operations in a busy optometry setting.

This full-time role requires excellent customer service, organization, and proficiency with basic office software. Prior medical office experience is preferred, and HIPAA compliance is expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year interacting with customers/patients or equivalent
• Experience in a medical/optometry setting preferred
• HIPAA familiarity or willingness to learn
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States required

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly with a friendly demeanor and set a welcoming tone
• Answer phones and provide courteous service to patients
• Process insurance authorizations and verify patient information
• Manage patient flow and communicate with team to maximize efficiency
• Handle payments and daily cash reconciliation
• Perform general office duties as assigned by management
