Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Associate Optometrist in Altoona, PA to deliver evidence-based vision care, prescribe treatments, and educate patients and staff on eye health. The role partners with the Vision Center Manager to ensure affordable, high-quality eyecare in the community.

The position requires a Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) and licensure in good standing. PGY-1 in a relevant area is preferred. Special emphasis on patient education and collaboration with health professionals is expected.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from accredited program.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
• PGY-1 in area of emphasis preferred (family practice, low vision, pediatrics, ocular disease).

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based vision care and prescribe treatments per guidelines.
• Educate patients and store associates on eye health and safety.
• Review patient history and perform comprehensive eye examinations.
• Maintain patient records in vision center systems and coordinate care with other providers.
