Job summary

Walmart Inc. seeks an Associate Optometrist to join our Vision Center leadership and partner with the Vision Center Manager to deliver evidence-based eye care.

This role involves clinical independence, patient-facing care, and community engagement in a high-volume setting. You will perform comprehensive eye examinations, prescribe medications, educate patients and store associates on eye health, and coordinate care with ophthalmologists while maintaining accurate patient records and complying

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry from an accredited program.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
• PGY-1 in family practice, low vision, pediatrics or ocular disease preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidence-based vision care, prescribes medications, and offers treatment options per guidelines.
• Performs comprehensive eye examinations and evaluates eye health and function.
• Prescribes and fits eyeglasses/contact lenses; orders tests; coordinates patient care with ophthalmologists.
• Documents patient history, assessments, and treatment plans in a timely manner.
