Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry degree from an educational program accredited by the ACOE.
• Licensure: current, full, unrestricted license to practice optometry in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• GS-11/12: basic requirements including licensure and professional optometry credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive eye exams, diagnoses and treats ocular diseases.
• Provides primary eye care, including management of ocular disorders and prescriptions.
• Provides emergency ocular care in various clinical settings.
• Supports patient services and community health through optometric care.
