Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks an experienced optometric physician to provide comprehensive eye care across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases of the visual system, prescribe corrective lenses, and manage ocular conditions with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.

This role requires a Doctor of Optometry, NBEO licensure, and full professional privileges.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry degree from a program accredited by ACOE.
• Licensure: NBEO passing score and current full license to practice optometry in the US.
• GS-11/GS-12: One year of residency or one year of professional experience at GS-11 level.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary eye care services including comprehensive ocular examinations.
• Diagnose and treat diseases of the eye and visual system.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
