Job summary

Indian Health Service in the United States is seeking a licensed Doctor of Optometry to provide comprehensive eye care across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases of the visual system and its disorders, and develop treatment plans for ocular health.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOTE-accredited program.
• Licensure: NBEO pass and current full optometry license in the U.S. or eligible territory.
• GS-12: one year residency or one year of professional optometry experience at GS-11 level.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and disorders of the visual system and eye.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care, including evaluation and management of ocular diseases.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe corrective lenses and therapies as needed.
