Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry from an ACOE-accredited program.
• Licensure: NBEO passing score and current unrestricted license in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Basic GS-11/12 requirements: residency or 1 year of specialized experience.
• Total duties include primary eye care, treat ocular diseases, and manage ocular emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ocular examinations and diagnose eye diseases.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe corrective lenses and medications.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Maintain clinical privileges and comply with federal requirements.
