Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking an experienced optometrist to join our team in delivering comprehensive eye care to Native communities. The role involves performing exams, diagnosing and treating ocular diseases, and providing emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

A valid Doctor of Optometry degree, NBEO exam pass, and unrestricted licensure are required. Revenue and recruitment incentives may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
• Must have passed NBEO examinations and hold a current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in the U.S.
• Experience meeting GS-12 level requirements may be relevant for advanced postings.

Responsibilities

• Performs full range of optometric duties: examine, diagnose, and treat eye diseases.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care, including diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
