Job summary

Acuity Eyecare Group in Portland, OR is seeking an Optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye exams and practice to the full extent of their license. You will build lasting patient relationships, educate patients on eye care, and collaborate with staff to deliver exceptional vision care.

You will diagnose and treat refractive errors and ocular diseases, prescribe eyewear and medications, and participate in pre/postoperative care while promoting overall eye health.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.
• Ability to practice to full license scope.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams.
• Establish long term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit and needs.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as appropriate.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care for eye surgery.
• Promote eye health through counseling and education.
• Clearly communicate lens recommendations to optical staff.
