Job summary

Acuity Eyecare Group seeks a Doctor of Optometry to perform comprehensive eye exams and enhance patient care within the practice. You will conduct interviews, assess ocular history, diagnose vision problems, and prescribe eyewear, contact lenses, and medications as appropriate.

You will promote eye health, participate in patient education, and support practice growth by building lasting patient relationships while collaborating with staff and opticians on lens selections and technology.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through care and education.
• Interviews patient to assess health, history, and needs before exams.
• Counsel patients on refractive options and ocular/systemic conditions; hand off to staff for recap.
• Promote patient loyalty and represent Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehab.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care for eye surgery patients.
• Evaluate for diseases like diabetes and refer when needed.
• Educate patients on eye health and lens care.
• Coordinate with opticians on lens options and coatings.
