Job summary

HealthDrive is seeking an Optometrist to provide mobile optometry services across nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care sites in Asheville, NC and surrounding western NC. Flexible schedule: 2–5 days per week, part-time or full-time, with a fully supported clinical team and provided equipment.

The role offers a competitive compensation package with a $625 daily minimum and potential to exceed $800 per day via production, plus a $10k sign-on bonus for 5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) required.
• TPA certification or Legend Drug Certificate required.
• Current state professional license required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
• Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases of the visual system and eye.
• Identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
• Enter patient information and complete clinical documentation in our EMR system.

HealthDrive is currently seeking an Optometrist, to work Part Time or Full-time (2-5 days per week) covering work sites across Asheville, NC and the surrounding western NC communities.

Updated Compensation:

• Opportunity to earn $800+ per day via production with a $625 daily minimum. (175,000+ annually)
• $10k Sign On Bonus available at 5 days per week. Prorated for fewer days.

Responsibilities

The Optometrist will provide general optometry services to the residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities within an assigned territory.

Essential Functions:

• Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
• Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
• Identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
• Enters patient information and completes required clinical documentation in our cutting-edge EMR system.
• Mobile model treatment of patients requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements for Optometrist:

• Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
• Ability to transport optometry equipment (maximum of 15 lbs.).
• May be occasionally required to transport patients in wheelchairs.

Education & Qualifications:

• Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.)
• TPA certified/Legend Drug Certificate
• Current State professional license
• Valid driver’s license.

Travel:

This is a mobile position. Daily travel is based on the patient care requirements for the specified service area; your Practice. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive significant distances on occasion is required.
