Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing, and measurements. No optical experience is required as training will be provided.

Some weekend and evening shifts are required, with compensation aligned to Virginia wage ranges based on location. Locations include Virginia counties such as Fauquier, Arlington, and surrounding areas. The role emphasizes patient comfort, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the Doctor and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable and patient with the ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment.
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience.
