Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will assist with pre-testing, education, and scheduling to ensure a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out.

The role includes preliminary patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and state policies.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Perform diagnostic testing using equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with contact lens instruction and inventory management.
• End-of-day wrap-up and office cleanliness and organization.
