Hawthorne Vision Center in Portland, OR is seeking an Optometric Technician who will also cross-train as a Patient Coordinator. You will prepare patients for exams, perform diagnostic tests, and support patient flow with documentation and communications through electronic systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in medical setting preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and self-motivation.
• Saturday availability 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists in providing excellent care.
• Greet and prepare patients for their visit.
• Gather medical history, take measurements, and conduct preliminary tests.
• Operate OCT, retinal camera, and visual field-testing equipment.
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation.
• Communicate with patients through electronic systems.
• Provide guidance on eyewear care and contact lens handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of ocular equipment.
