Job summary

EyeHealth Northwest in East Portland, OR is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians with patient exams, diagnostic testing, and patient education. You will interact with patients and families, perform tests, and help ensure efficient clinic flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification or have the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of being hired.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients in a professional and courteous manner; explain tests and procedures.
• Obtain medical and family ocular histories and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform diagnostic tests.
• Take ocular measurements and test visual functions as directed by the physician.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and properly prepped patient areas.
