Job summary

Target Optical, part of EssilorLuxottica, seeks an Optometric Technician to deliver high-quality eye care and seamlessly connect the doctor with the rest of the care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with eye exams, managing patient records, performing tests, and supporting contact lens services while upholding HIPAA and safety standards. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in optometry or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.).
• Coaching skills and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to assess priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow.
• Performs various tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs and coordinating with staff.
• Maintains patient records and HIPAA-compliant handling.
• Supports contact lens exams and orders.
• Operates the scheduling system and POS with accuracy.
• Ensures safety and cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
