Job summary

EssilorLuxottica Naperville is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams by handling patient flow, recording data, and assisting the optometrist throughout visits.

You will perform pre-exam tests, assist with contact lens orders and inventory, operate the POS, maintain equipment, and ensure HIPAA-compliant patient care in a fast-paced environment. Weekend/evening availability may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and use of optical equipment and diagnostic testing.
• Coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to work autonomously and follow procedures.
• Knowledge of office environment and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, managing patient records and flow.
• Perform tests to aid the optometrist, including acuity and retinal imaging.
• Handle and file patient records per HIPAA and practice standards.
• Support contact lens exams, orders, and inventory.
• Operate POS and process sales transactions as required.
• Maintain and disinfect equipment; provide support to the Optometrist.
• Work weekends and evenings as required by location.
