Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an Optometric Technician to assist doctors by preparing patients and performing preliminary testing using pretest equipment in a fast-paced clinical setting.

No optical experience is required as training will be provided; a friendly, patient-forward approach is essential to deliver a best-in-class patient experience. Weekend and some evening shifts are expected to support patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and basic math understanding.
• Personable and patient with the ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented with the ability to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the optical industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/optical background is preferred but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for pre-exam prep.
• Maintain smooth patient flow to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures encountered during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver a seamless patient experience.
