Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care from pre-test to post-exam. You will conduct preliminary checks, assist with tests, and help manage the doctor’s schedule for efficient patient flow.

You will also maintain accurate patient records in the EHR, handle referrals and communications with patients, and assist with contact lens services. Strong HIPAA knowledge and eye-care terminology are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiar with medical terms related to eye care.
• Experience maintaining patient records per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT)

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostics).
• Schedule referrals to Ophthalmologists and follow-up visits.
• Maintain and update patient records in EHR and billing docs.
• Assist with clerical tasks and HIPAA-compliant documentation.
• Manage appointment schedule to maximize utilization and reduce no-shows.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal and inventory management.
• Support end-of-day wrap-up and practice cleaning tasks.
