Job summary

AEG Vision in Quincy, IL seeks an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and deliver high‑quality patient care. You will conduct pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule for seamless patient experiences.

You will record medical findings in EHR, maintain HIPAA‑compliant files, respond to patient inquiries, and help with end‑of‑day tasks while supporting a collaborative team focused on continuous learning and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre‑testing procedures for patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post‑exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for an efficient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, etc.).
• Document findings in EHR and assist with medical documentation.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization through confirmations and recalls.
