Job summary

AEG Vision in Springfield, MA seeks an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in patient care and education. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, etc.).
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment with the Optometrist guidance.
• May perform diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via pre- and post-appointment confirmations and recall outreach.
• May conduct contact lens insertion/removal training and manage inventory.
