Job summary

AEG Vision in Oregon seeks an Optometric Technician to support doctors and patient care, performing pre-testing, assisting with diagnostic testing, and managing the doctor’s schedule to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

The role involves documenting findings in EHR, HIPAA-compliant record keeping, and performing related clerical duties to maintain clinic operations. Certification (CPO/CPOA/CPOT) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists or other specialty referrals.
• Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance with HIPAA and policy.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication or treatment; assist with clerical duties.
