AEG seeks an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists, supporting pre-testing, diagnostic procedures, and patient education to ensure a smooth, high‑quality experience from check-in to check-out.

The role involves preliminary evaluations, scheduling referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and assisting with diagnostic testing within EHR systems. A HS diploma and certifications are required; benefits include 401(k), medical/dental/vision, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records/files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor appointment scheduling and recalls.
• Maintain patient records in EHR with HIPAA compliance.
• Provide patient education and support during visits.
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
