Responsibilities include preliminary testing, patient interviews, scheduling referrals, and maintaining accurate electronic health records, while upholding HIPAA and privacy standards in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and clinicians.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Conduct patient interviews to identify medical issues and reasons for visit for clinician briefing.
• Schedule referrals and manage appointment paperwork as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records in electronic systems.
