Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our on-site team. You will support optometrists with pre‑testing, educational activities, and registration duties to ensure high-quality patient experiences.

You will perform preliminary assessments, assist with specialty diagnostic testing, document findings in the EHR, and help schedule referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance. This role emphasizes teamwork and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Conduct diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with scheduling referrals and complete paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Handle end-of-day tasks and keep the practice organized and clean.
