Job summary

Cherry Health is seeking an Optometric Technician I to assist the Doctor of Optometry in delivering comprehensive eye care. You will perform pre-testing, administer eye drops, and help with exams in a busy Grand Rapids clinical setting.

The role requires accurate record keeping, patient communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. CPR certification is required. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with weekday hours and occasional late evenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Ophthalmic or medical assistant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support doctors during eye exams and pre-testing.
• Record patient history and chief complaints.
• Operate diagnostic equipment (OCT, HVF, topography).
• Maintain accurate electronic health records in Nextgen EHR.
• Coordinate referrals and schedule follow-ups.
• Perform administrative duties and supply tracking.
