Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Ohio is seeking an Optometric Technician to support exams by performing preliminary testing and operating optical equipment. This role helps create a world-class Total Patient Experience and prepares patients for examination.

You will assist clinicians, maintain patient flow, and help with daily office tasks in a busy clinic environment, while upholding HIPAA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.
• Background check in line with state requirements.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace Total Patient Experience to build relationships while delivering medical support.
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies.
• Maintain a sense of urgency to respect patients' and doctors' time.
• Operate exam equipment including lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT.
• Follow testing scripts for photos, visual fields, and activity.
• Clean examination equipment such as tonometer tips.
• Interact courteously with all staff and visitors.
• Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned.
• Contribute to a positive, patient-focused work environment and flexible scheduling.
