Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists with patient care and education, ensuring efficient, high-quality experiences. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostics, and manage the doctor’s schedule while maintaining accurate patient records.

The role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, record-keeping, and potential scribal duties.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Schedule referrals and manage the doctor’s appointment calendar.
• Record and maintain patient records compliant with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• End-of-day duties including schedule wrap-up and clean work area.
• May act as a scribe for the Optometrist or assist with refractions.
