AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the Optometrists and education of patients, ensuring exceptional care from check-in through finish.

You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, manage the doctor’s schedule, and help maintain accurate patient records in our fast-paced practice.

Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency with MS Office and EHR software are required to thrive in this team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsabilités

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• Conduct verbal interview with patient prior to visit with Optometrist to determine medical issues and reasons for visit.
• Schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists or follow-up visits and complete paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in EHR and assist with clerical duties.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via confirmations and recall outreach.
• Perform contact lens insertion/removal classes and manage inventory.
• Complete end-of-day tasks and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
• Other duties as requested.
