Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering exceptional patient care. You will conduct pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience from check‑in to checkout.

You will document findings in the Electronic Health Records, maintain HIPAA compliance, and assist with refractions or scribe duties as needed. A strong team player with good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Strong attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office and Windows.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations before exams conducted by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Document medical findings in the EHR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Communicate with patients regarding medications and treatment plans.
• Support contact lens insertions/removals and inventory management.
• Handle end-of-day wrap-up tasks and keep the practice area organized.
