Job summary

AEG seeks an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care on-site. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience from start to finish.

The role requires High School or GED, familiarity with eye‑care terms, and industry certifications (CPO/CPOA/CPOT). Full‑time benefits include 401(k) with match, vision discount, HSA/FSA, PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam with Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor's appointment schedule to ensure efficient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA policies.
• Conduct contact lens insertion and removal classes and manage inventory.
• Handle referrals and paperwork when needed.
