Job summary

AEG in Oxford, OH is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and enhance patient care from check-in to checkout.

You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing (OCT, Pachymetry), manage the doctor’s schedule, and maintain accurate EHR notes, while upholding HIPAA and delivering clear patient education.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and compassionate service in a fast-paced eye-care practice.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with eye exams and patient records.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing procedures prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
• Support clerical duties and respond to patient inquiries as needed.
