Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our eye care team in Cypress, Texas. You will support optometrists with pre-testing, testing, patient education, and appointment scheduling to ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

You will maintain patient records in line with HIPAA, participate in routine and specialty testing, and help with clerical duties and inventory, contributing to efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations and assist with eye exams.
• Support optometrists with testing, scheduling, and education tasks.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Schedule referrals and manage the doctor’s appointment calendar.
• Assist with post-exam tasks and clerical duties as needed.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal training and inventory.
• Wrap up daily operations and keep the practice clean and organized.
